INGREDIENTS

1 bottle (750 milliliters) dry red wine
2 organic Saigon cinnamon sticks
1 all-natural Madagascar vanilla bean, split in half lengthwise and seeds scraped
1/4 cup superfine sugar
Whole nutmeg, freshly grated as needed

INSTRUCTIONS

Combine all the ingredients, except for the nutmeg, in a large saucepan. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.

Once simmering, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 10 minutes. When ready to serve, ladle the warm wine into cups and garnish each with freshly grated nutmeg.
